The Rhythm Dance Club”
Ian Bage presents “The Rhythm Dance Club” — a performance of spoken word from Bage’s novel, Desire; dance by Maureen Freehill Momo Butoh Dance Company; and original music composed and performed by James “Shoes” Walker.
“Desire is dead and now I can tell his story. Like many of us, my friend Desire appeared to be something quite different than he was. As a young man he had suffered a wound to his soul and so he turned away from the hurtful world and found a refuge in books, in an intellectual life. The natural light of youth vanished from his eyes and was replaced by a mature brooding darkness…

“Walt Wagner Benefit House Concert”
Walt Wagner has performed with Jay Leno, Bill Cosby, Bob Hope, George Burns, Lily Tomlin, Roberta Flack, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bob Newhart, and as pianist-conductor with Peggy Lee. “There are not many pianists with whom he can be compared. There are touches of wizardry that remind of jazz and rock, yet he has the technical fluidity of a classical craftsman. There is a charisma about him that generated a standing ovation with the audience yelling for more.” — PortlandOregonian LISTEN

Walt Wagner Concert @ WICA
Walt Wagner has been to the dark side of the moon, and liked it. “In the Pink” is the latest CD from the world-class pianist on which he reinterprets the music of Pink Floyd for the piano with 13 songs taken from “The Wall,” “Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Division Bell.” Wagner said he was inspired to record the songs by some of the staff at Canlis, a restaurant in Seattle where he regularly performs. Walt Wagner will be performing his ever-evolving mix of old and new jazz and popular music — Adele, Brubeck, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Gershwin, Elton John, Billy Joel, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Florence and the Machine, Cole Porter, Pink Floyd, and Metallica!
